My name is Lisa and I’m a documentary/storytelling  photographer based in Athens, Pennsylvania.

My focus is natural light child photography. Natural light means photographing with the use of sunlight (or just daylight) only.

I am willing to travel to all areas of Bradford County, Sullivan County, and Tioga County in Pennsylvania as well as Tioga County and Chemung County, N.Y. I am the mother to one little boy.

I prefer to capture your child  as they are. I always say I don’t want you to change a thing for me and I mean it. For me, photographs that mean the most to me are the one’s taken right at my home or at a place that is special for the child. That is why I prefer to take the photos of your children in your home.

I encourage those who work with me to not think of their photo session as time for their children to look “just so” or “act just right.” I don’t want them to feel stressed or concerned or like this is a moment being forced on them.

You may not think your house is nice enough for photographs or that your child’s everyday clothes are “fancy enough” for a “photo shoot.” It doesn’t have to be. I’ll find those sweet spots where everything looks good. If I can find it in my own home, I can surely find it in yours.

Be yourself because who you are and who your children are is beautiful. The smudge on your little one’s cheek may not be “perfect” but it is part of who they are. Their messy hair may not seem like it’s what should be in a framed photo, but if it is how they look every day, maybe it’s best to leave it that way, at least for one image.

The baby is crying, her older brother is laughing — oh my gosh it could be a disaster. Or it could be one of your most favorite images of all time.

Don’t box yourself in when it comes to how you think of images and I won’t box you in to what I think a perfect photograph is. If you want a formal session, you should have a formal session. If you want your child’s personality captured forever in a way that will make you shake your head and say “That’s him” or “She always did that with her mouth…so funny!” I’m your photographer.
