I recently participated in a break out session with Clickin’ Moms by Kate T. Parker Photography. It was called Creating and Recognizing Opportunities and part of the break out session was Lightroom editing. I loved learning about how to edit black and whites in Lightroom and I’m having a blast trying it out, as well as learning from the rest of the session. You can learn more about this session (even though the full participation deadline has passed, you can still get the PDF and videos) at http://www.clickinmoms.com and click on “cmuniversity.” Kate’s session is linked under there. And for more of Kate’s images you can visit her site at: http://www.katetparkerphotography.com/

Sometimes the winter is long {Pennsylvania & Southern New York Lifestyle Photographer}

Sometimes the winter of our lives seems to go on for awhile. And sometimes the winter literally just seems to drag on. We aren’t even halfway through winter here in Pennsylvania so I guess I’d better put on my big girl pants and wait it out, right?

While I’m waiting for personal storms to end and literal winter to wind down, I might as well enjoy some time in this snow with my six-year old.

Winter storms, both literal and figurative are both rough to weather, aren’t they? But, they both come to an end eventually!

Also, you have the cutest model to snap gorgeous and fun photos of in the mean time. ;-)

Portrait session special for January & February

10 on 10 for January {Northern Pennsylvania Lifestyle Photography}

I am so excited to be part of a 10 on 10 with some ladies at The Bloom Forum!

This is my first time to participate in something like this, so I can’t wait to see what the next year brings! This will be 10 photos from one day on the 10th of each month. I can’t wait to get started.

This time around I chose 10 photos from my dad’s birthday. He turned 69, but he certainly didn’t act it, grabbing a sled and flying down a very long snow covered hill and walking back up it time after time with my six year old little boy.

I’m not sure how much pain he’s been in since then, but as for that day and the following day, he was still moving pretty well.

(Talking right along to grandpa as they walk. Preparing for the next trip down.)

Please be sure to head over to Denean Melcher | Berks County Child and Family Photographer for her 10 on 10 post: http://www.deneanmelcher.com/2013/01/10/10-on-10-january-2/

These are great! I LOVE that first one…the colors and crop are perfect. And the black and white one of your dad with your son reflected in his glasses is really cool! So glad to have you join our group! :)

I’m sure he would gladly take a day of pain to sled with his little dude. I know I would :)

I would love to have images like this with my kids and my dad! These will be such cherished memories! I love the images with the reflections in your dads sunglasses…very cool!

What an amazing man! When I saw the close up of him I immediately got the sense that he’s had a very full life and probably has some great stories. Love the detail shots too!
